MND Association Nationally
The MND Association was founded in 1979 by a group of volunteers with experience of living with, or caring for, someone with MND.
Since then, the charity has grown significantly, with an ever-increasing community of volunteers, supporters and staff, all sharing the same goal - to support people with MND and everyone who cares for them, both now and in the future.
The Association:
- improves care and support for people with MND, their families and carers.
- funds and promotes research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND.
- campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised and addressed by wider society.
The Association runs a national helpline for those affected by MND called MND Connect. The MND Connect team offers information and support on all aspects of MND, including symptom control, practical management, improving quality of life, clinical research and signposting to other organisations.
MND Connect is available Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm and 7pm to 10:30pm.
People can call 0808 802 6262 or e-mail mndconnect@mndassociation.org
(Calls to this number are free from landlines and mobile phones within the UK and do not appear on itemised bills).
